Al-Moemin ("the app") is available on iOS and Android. This policy applies to both versions and explains what the app does and does not do with your information — any difference between platforms is called out explicitly below.
If you choose to buy a Premium subscription, the purchase is processed by Apple StoreKit (iOS) or Google Play Billing (Android), and managed by RevenueCat. After a successful subscription we ask for your first and last name and email address to create your subscriber profile. This information, together with your subscription tier and a non-identifying purchase reference, is stored in our database (Google Cloud Firestore) and with RevenueCat solely to manage your subscription and provide support. Providing your name is optional — you may skip it. We do not sell or share this information.
The free version displays ads via Google AdMob. AdMob may collect your device advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, Advertising ID on Android) and usage data to serve relevant ads. You can limit ad tracking in iOS Settings → Privacy → Tracking, or on Android in Settings → Privacy → Ads. Removing ads is one of the Premium benefits.
If you grant location access, your approximate location is used only on your device to calculate prayer times and the Qibla direction. Your location is never sent to us or to any third party. You can decline location access and set your city manually instead.
We use anonymous user identifiers provided by Firebase and RevenueCat to manage your account and subscription across devices. These identifiers are not linked to your real identity unless you create an account with your email address.
We collect anonymized usage data (screens visited, features used) via Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used and improve the experience. This data is not linked to your identity.
Your preferences, prayer log, bookmarks, tasbih counts, and reading progress are stored locally on your device. On iOS, if you enable iCloud, this data is synced privately through your own Apple iCloud account so it is available across your devices. On Android, this data stays on your device only and is not backed up by us. We have no access to it either way.
Quran recitations, audio, and tafsir are streamed from content servers (for example Google Cloud Storage and GitHub). As with loading any web content, these servers receive standard technical request information (such as your IP address) needed to deliver the content. The app does not attach any identity to these requests.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us at alioua.larbi@gmail.com, or see our account deletion instructions. To cancel your subscription: on iOS, go to Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions; on Android, open the Play Store app → Menu → Payments & subscriptions.
The app does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13 and is suitable for all ages.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page.
